Meet the Guineas

So I went to the pet store to ask about guinea pigs and guess what happened? yep of course we ended up with a couple! Now in my defense.. this was not a pet store that usually has guinea pigs! a family had just come in the day before and left them there to be adopted (they were moving into a place that would not allow any pets). So of course Andrew and I had to call daddy and make sure we could bring them home. The best part was that this adoption required no paper work or home studies, LOL. And you have admit they are pretty cute for being oversized rodents, LOL. Andrew is having a great time helping take care of them and loves his "guin pigs". The short haired tan one is Cheeca, and the long haired one is Callie.

Jello, Fireworks, and Sparklers - what more could you ask for?

We enjoyed a yummy 4th of July dinner at grandma and pop pop's house, mommy was so busy devouring the bbq ribs that this is the only food related picture she got before dragging me outside  for the requisite holiday pictures... hope your 4th of July was as delicious and fun filled as ours!

After dinner and some pictures we were off to see the fireworks, despite the on again off again drizzle  and threat of heavier rain.

Then back to grandma and pop pop's house for some good ole sparkler fun :) Mommy bravely let me hold my own sparkler this year after numerous instructions to not hold it too close!

Plasma cars and cooking lessons

We took Andrew's new plasma car to cousin Alex and Rachel's house during our three day visit.

For those who do not know what one is... you sit on it with your feet propped up and then just wiggle the steering handle back and forth and it magically (well I'm sure there is a scientific explanation involving words like inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction) moves forward or backward depending on how the wheel is facing. They are addictive and kids have been known to have trouble getting the adults to stop playing with them! Yes, both grandma and Aunt Jenn were spotted on the plasma car... sadly I have no photographic evidence of that to share!

However, it was Rachel who seemed glued to it the majority of the time, whether giving Andrew a ride or going solo :)

This is what she looked like most of the time... the fact that the hair on top of her head is standing on end, should give you some idea of the speed she was going!

Sitting still long enough for a pretty pose!

The kids got to participate in a healthy food class at Publix, they had a great time :)

Living in Florida means you generally do not have to put mittens on your childrens hands... this made getting gloves onto Andrew's hands an interesting challenge!

How many ways can you go down a slip n slide?

Apparently quite a few! Especially when you've got a bit of a downhill slope to help you out.

There's the traditionalist

The less traditional... but just as effective going downhill..
